This is a verse from the Love Dare book itself. The first of this dare is fairly simple. Although love is communicated in a number of ways, our words often reflect the condition of our heart. For the next day, resolve to demonstrate patience and to say nothing negative to your spouse at all. If the temptation arises, choose not to say anything. It's better to hold your tongue than to say something you'll regret.
I worked on doing this dare towards everyone I spoke to, not just my spouse. I worked on this dare from the moment I woke up and until the moment they fell asleep. I realized that taking deep breaths works, a lot more than you would think. I also realized that counting to ten was not working for me and that I should increase it to fifteen. By the end of the day I was counting to fifty- five. Today, I received a counting lesson and a yoga breathing instruction. I have noticed today, that there was a lot less yelling from my end and a lot more listening and productivity.
Everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger. (James1:19)
